1032. King Edmund II Ironside of England. Born in 989. Edmund II Ironside died on 30 Nov 1016 in London, England. Buried in Glastonbury.

Edmund, called Ironside for his courage and bravery, was proclaimed king of England in 1016 after his father’s death even though Canute received support of over half the country. After the battle of Assandun, he and Canute came to terms and partitioned England.

In Aug 1015 Edmund II Ironside married Eadgyth of Northumbria, daughter of Morcar of Northumbria & Ealdgyth. Eadgyth died ca 1016.

1033. Ælfgifu of England. Born ca 997 in Wessex, England.

Ælfgifu, or Elfgufu.

Ælfgifu first married Earl Uchtred of Northumerland, son of Earl Waltheof I of Northumerland (ca 935-ca 1006) & Elfreda of Northumerland (ca 945-). Born ca 975. Uchtred died in 1016 in Yorkshire.

Uchtred was Elfgifu's 3rd husband and was murdered in 1016 by the Dane Thurebriand

Ælfgifu second married Earl Ælfgar III of East Anglia (1041) , son of Earl Leofric of Mercia (809) (975-31 Aug 1057) & Lady Godiva (-10 Sep 1067). Born in 1002 in Mercia. Ælfgar III died ca 1059/1063. Buried in Coventry, Warwickshire.

Their children include:
1307 i. Edith of Mercia (-bef 1080)
1308 ii. Lucia of Mercia (ca 1040-)
