2448. King Malcolm IV of Scotland. Malcolm IV died in 1165.

Malcolm IV, the Maiden, king of Scotland (1153-1165), succeeded his grandfather David I. He died unmarried leaving no sons. The only illegitimate son, whose name is unkown, died in Malcolm’s lifetime. He was succeeded by his brother William the Lion.

2449. King William I of Scotland. Born in 1142/3. William I died on 4 Dec 1214 in Stirling, Scotland. Buried in Arbroath (Tay) Scotland.

William I, the Lion, king of Scotland 1165-1214, succeeded his brother Malcolm IV.

On 5 Sep 1186 William I second married Ermengarde de Beaumont (2951) , daughter of Vicomte Richard I de Beaumont (2465) (-aft 1199) & Lucie de l’ Aigle (-aft 1217), in Woodstock. Ermengarde died on 12 Feb 1233. Buried in Abbaye St. Edouard de Balmerino.

On 26 Aug 1190 David married Maud de Kevelioc (3119) , daughter of Hugh de Kevelioc Earl of Chester (2671) (1147-30 Jun 1181) & Bertrade de Montfort (2699) (ca 1155-12 Jul 1189). Born ca 1171 in Chester, Cheshire. Maud died on 6 Jan 1232/3.

In 1160 Marguarite first married Duc Conan IV de Bretagne (2201) , son of Earl Alain II of Richmond (1717) (ca 1095-15 Sep 1146) & Bertha de Cornouailles (2477) (-ca 1158/1164). Born ca 1138 in Bretagne. Conan IV died on 20 Feb 1177.

aft 1177 Marguarite second married Humphrey IV de Bohun (3145) , son of Humphrey III de Bohun Lord of Hereford (ca 1109-6 Apr 1187) & Margaret of Hereford (2683) (ca 1126-6 Apr 1187). Born ca 1150 in Hereford, Herefordshire. Humphrey IV died in 1182.

Humphrey was probably the one who, as constable of England, commanded the royal forces that routed the English rebels of 1173 at Fornham in Suffolk, and helped to defeat the Scottish invasion in 1174.
