Margaret first married Sir Ralph Basset, son of Ralph Basset (ca 1190-ca 1254/1261) & Isabel (ca 1165-). Born in 1215 in Drayton Basset, Staffordshire. Ralph died on 4 Aug 1265 in the battle of Evesham, Worcestershire.

Ralph, first Lord Basset of Drayton. He was slain fighting against King Henry III at the Battle of Eversham in 1265.
