3994. Roger de Mortimer Earl of March. Born on 3 May 1287 in Netherwood, Thornbury, Herefordshire. Roger died in Elms, Tyburn, Worwickshire, on 29 Nov 1330; he was 43. Buried in Church of the Grey Friars, Shrewsbury.

Roger, Lord of Leix, eighth Baron Mortimer of Wigmore, created first Earl of March in 1328. He was hung for murder.

Roger first married Joan de Geneville (4248) , daughter of Sir Piers de Geneville (3941) (1256-Jun 1292) & Jeanne de Lusignan (4159) (ca 1262-1323). Born on 2 Feb 1285/6 in Ludlow, Shropshire. Joan died in Ellms, Tyburn, England, on 19 Oct 1356; she was 70.

Roger second married Isabella de France. Born in 1292. Isabella died on 22 Aug 1358.

3995. Maud de Mortimer. Maud died on 18 Sep 1312 in Alton, Staffordshire.

On 29 Jul 1302 Maud married Sir Theobald II de Verdun (4356) , son of Theobald de Verdun (4050) (ca 1248-24 Aug 1309) & Margery [de Verdun], in Wigmore, Herefordshire. Born on 8 Sep 1278. Theobald II died in Alveton Castle, Alton, Staffordshire, on 27 Jul 1316; he was 37. Buried in Croxden Abbey.

Theobald, second Lord Verdun, Lord of Weoberly, Justiciar of Ireland, knight 1298, M.P. 1299-1314.
