On 7 Jan 1296/7 John married Elizabeth Plantagenet (3977) , daughter of King Edward I of England (3643) (17 Jun 1239-8 Jul 1307) & Eleanor of Castile Comtesse de Ponthieu (3542) (ca 1239-12 Nov 1290), in Ipswich, Suffolk. Born on 7 Aug 1282 in Rhuddlan Castle, Caernarvon, Wales. Elizabeth died in Quendon, Essex, on 5 May 1316; she was 33. Buried in Walden Abbey, Essex.
