4708. Sir James Douglas. Born ca 1270/1280. James died on 25 Aug 1330 in Spain.

James, Lord of Dougla, known to the Scots as the “good Sir James” but to the English as “the Black Douglas”. A friend and supporter of Robert the Bruce. After the Bruce’s death, Sir James was the Black Douglas charged to take the Heart of Robert the Bruce into battle.
