George, first Earl of Angus, served as Lord Chancellor of Scotland.

On 24 May 1397 George married Mary Stewart (5313) , daughter of Robert III John of Scotland (5066) (ca 1337-4 Apr 1406) & Annabella Drummond (ca 1350-Oct 1401). Mary died ca 1458.
