On 17 Feb 1359 Eleanor first married John FitzAlan Earl of Arundel (4688) , son of Richard FitzAlan Earl of Arundel (4438) (ca 1313-24 Jan 1375/6) & Eleanor Plantagenet (4367) (ca 1316-11 Jan 1371/2), in Arundel, Sussex. Born ca 1348 in Maltravers. John died on 16 Dec 1379. John drowned in the Irish Sea. Buried in Lewes Priory, Sussex.

John, Marshall of England in 1377 . He drowned in a shipwreck off the coast of Ireland.
