Benjamin Thompson, Count Rumford. He went to England in 1776 and later served the elector of Bavaria as an administrator. He reorganized the Bavarian army and introduced sociologial reformes in England, Ireland, and Bavaria. He founded a scientific theory of heat. He was created a count of the Holy Roman Empire in 1791 with a title referring to Rumford (later Concord, NH).
In Nov 1772 Benjamin married Sarah Walker (35497) , daughter of Rev. Timothy Walker (16981) (27 Jul 1705-1 Sep 1782) & Sarah Burbeen (17 Jun 1701-19 Feb 1778). Born on 6 Aug 1739 in Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Sarah died in Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, on 10 Jan 1792; she was 52.
