Abner served in Capt. James Peck’s Militia Co. for the defense of Fort William Henry 1757; also in the 6th Co., 2nd Regt., May to Nov 1758.6

Abner and Mary moved from Hamden, CT, to Lake Ridge, NY, in 1804, where he bought land and began the work of clearing it off and preparing it for cultivation.553
