On 17 Oct 1844 Isaiah G. married Cordelia Davidson, daughter of Samuel Henry Davidson (4 Nov 1788-8 Aug 1880) & Catherine Rhine (22 Sep 1793-8 Mar 1879), in Knox County, Ohio.692 Born ca 1818 in Maryland. Cordelia died in Jackson Township, Knox County, Ohio on 16 Aug 1895.

Transcribed Knox County Marriage Records 1808-1875 states that Isaiah Harden married Cordelia Davidson 17 October 1844.

On page 114 of Death Records of Knox County, Ohio 1867-1908, there is a record for Cordelia Hardin. Book 2, page 113, shows Hardin, Cordelia died 16 August 1895 of paralysis.She was 80 years eight months and three days of age. She was born in Maryland, and resided and died in Jackson Township. Her parents are not listed.

Thomas married Mary Ann Brown, daughter of John Brown (ca 1784-aft 1860) & Margaret (ca 1785-aft 1860). Born ca 1820 in Pennsylvania.

On 8 Sep 1845 Martha Cordelia married John Harrison Brown in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania. Born ca 1821 in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. John Harrison died in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio on 21 Nov 1861.

    John Harrison Brown was born ca. 1820 in Carlisle, PA and died 21-Nov-1861 in Mansfield, OH. He married Martha C. Hardin on 5-Sep-1845 in Hollidaysburg, PA.
Little is known about John’s early life –not even his parents names. The first documentable event we have for him is his marriage to Martha.
    The couple married 5-Sep-1845 in Hollidaysburg, PA. In October 1846, their eldest child was born. The 1850 Census has a John Brown with wife Martha living in Blair County, PA. He was a laborer living in Catherine Township; however, his and Martha’s ages differ quite a bit from subsequent census and genealogy data bases.
    Two more children were born to John and Martha in 1851 and 1855, both in Hollidaysburg. Their fourth child was bor 26-Sep-1857 in Lowdinville, Ashland County, OH, followed by another in 1859 in Vermillion, Ashland Co., OH.
    By 1860, the family was living in Troy, Richland Co., OH. John was a laborer age 39, born in PA with a personal estate of $400.00. His 3 oldest children attended school within the year.
John died 21-Nov-1861 in Mansfied, Richland Co., OH. His place of burial is not yet known.
John and Martha’s children are:
i. Emily J. Brown was born 28-Oct-1845/46 in Hollidaysburg, OH and died 20-May-1933. She may have been married to Daniel Eshelman, but this had not been verified
ii. Harriet S. Brown was born 26-Aug-1851 Hollidaysburg, PA; her date of death is unknown. It is not known if she married.

iv. John Harrison Brown was born 26-Sep-1857 in Dowdinville, OH; his date of death is unknown. It is not known if he married.
v. Martha Cordelia Brown was born 6-Oct-1859 IN Vermillion, OH; her date of death is unknown. She married George H. Webber 22-Jun-1892 in Medina, OH. Two of their children are Alfred F. Webber (b. ca 1894) and Amor E. Webber (b. ca. 1896). From the Medina County Gazette 6-30-1892: "Married by Rev. G.H. Damon at the residence of John Brown, Medina June 22, 1892 Mr. George H. Webber with Miss Mattie C. Brown, both of Medina."
vi. Samuel Lewis Brown was born 6-May-1862 in Medina, OH and died 15-Feb-1936 in Detroit, MI. He married Mary Arvilla Stevens on 8-Jun-1884 in Holly, MI. Their children are not yet known.

On 28 Feb 1859 when Joshua H. was 24, he married Mary Elizabeth Hatfield, daughter of Adam Hatfield (ca 1800-) & Margarette (ca 1802-), in Ashland County, Ohio. Born on 28 Jul 1831 in Ohio. Mary Elizabeth died on 16 Apr 1882; she was 50.

On 14 Dec 1854 when Samuel Harrison was 18, he married Sarah Ann Grubaugh (64547) , daughter of David Grubaugh (60321) (ca 1789-19 Dec 1845) & Elizabeth Black (59841) (12 Feb 1812-20 Jan 1907), in Loudenville, Ashland County, Ohio. Born on 28 Aug 1835 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.693,671 Buried on 15 Jul 1917 in Newaygo Cemetery, Section H, Lot 210, Grave 2. Sarah Ann died in Grand Rapids Township, Kent County, Michigan, on 12 Jul 1917; she was 81.

Medical: Cause of death - Arterio Sclerosis.

Sarah’s Civil War Pension Record requesting a pension following Samuel’s death in 1901, indicates she has been an invalid for the previous five years. Witnesses were Harold H. Harden and Mrs May Leland.

On 16 October 1901, Elizbeth Black (Elizabeth “Mattie” Grubaugh Lloyd Black Rainier, Sarah’s younger sister) provided a deposition supporting Sarah’s claim to Samuel’s pension. “... I have known Sarah S. Harden and Samuel Harden her late husband for the past fory-nine years. I cannot remember the exact date of their marriage but I was present at said marriage and lived with them afterward. I have known them continuously since that time and know that neither of them was married before that time - (sometime in 1854 I believe) and I further know that they lived together continuously as husband and wife from that time until the death of said Samuel H. Harden which occurred recently and I know that neither of them has been married to any other person since that time. I should have excepted the time Mr. Harden was in the army from the period they lived together. I know that Mrs. Harden has no means of support and owns no property other than the house she lives in and the lot it stands on, altogether worth less than three hundred dollars. I also know that she has been ill and bed ridden for the past four years and is unable to walk or do any kind of labor or contribute in any way to her own supporet. I further swear that I am fifty seven years old.”
E. O. Shaw, Justice of the Peace certifys that, “I am well acauainted with Elizabeth Black affiant in this case and know her to be a person of good repute and entitled to credence.”

Newaygo Republican, 17 April 1902, “Local and General News”:
“Mrs. S. H. Harden of this village has been granted a pension of $8 per month, through the efforts of Hon. R.P. Bishop.”

In 1910 Sarah was living with her son David Harden’s family in Newaygo.

Kent County, MI Death Records: Record 149 book 10 page 164, states that Sarah A. Harden died of arteriosclerosis on 12 July 1917. She was 82 years, 11 months and 15 days old. She was a housewife, born in Pennsylvania. Her parents were David Grubaugh and Elizabeth Black. Elizabeth was born in Pennsylvania.
