Albert S. Wallis
    Funeral services were held Saturday at Detroit for Albert S. Wallis, a former Benton Harbor resident, who died Thursday at a convalesent home at Farmington. He was 85.
    Mr. Walls had resided with Mrs. Alla Challenger of Detroit, a step-daughter, before his death. Burial was in Grand Lawn cemetery.
    Married to Miss Catherine Johnson of Detroit in 1923, Mr. Wass was receeded in death by his wife in 1943.
    Besides Mrs. Challenger, Mr. Wallis is survived by a sister, Mrs. Flora Reeves, 424 Empire, Benton Harbor; three sons, Kenneth and Merle of St. Joseph and Donald of Flint; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Arent, 947 Monroe, Benton Harbor; a stepson Avery Johnson of Detroit; and another stepdaughter, Mrs. Cora Carmorall of Detroit.
On 16 Jul 1888 when Albert Schuyler was 19, he first married Carrie O. Ostrom, daughter of Albert Ostrom (7 May 1844-15 Jan 1904) & Sarah Jane Gleason (1846-), in Eau Claire, Berrien County, Michigan. Born on 8 Nov 1871 in Hartford, Van Buren County, Michigan. Carrie O. died in Benton Harbor, Berrien County, Michigan, on 29 Jul 1957; she was 85. They were divorced.

Carrie first married Albert Wallis (divorced), seond Woodson Shaffer.
