Dwight Pete Haines 82, of Charlotte, Michigan, died, Monday, July 17, 2006. Mr. Haines was born December 23, 1923 in Charlotte, Michigan, the son of Claude and Daisy (Lafler) Haines. Mr. Haines was employed with the US Postal Service for 53 years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Barbara; stepsons; James (Linda) Williams of Lansing and Paul B. (Kathy) Williams of Arizona; grandchildren, Andrew (Jolie) and Kimberly Williams; one great grand child; nephews, William C. (Carolyn) Haines of Holt, Brad (Kathy) Haines of Florida, Mark (Turid) Haines of Norway, John (Diane) Haines of Hastings and Peter (Ronnie) Haines of Gowen. He was preceded in death by brother, Merle Haines and sister Beulah Gilman.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2006 at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte with Reverend Karen Wheat officiating. Interment will be at Dutton Cemetery in Kent County. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church or Hayes Green Beach Hospital.
