The town of Northumberland is located on the east boundary of Saratoga County. It is bounded on the east by the Hudson River with the Washington county on the other side, on the north by the town of Moreau, on the west by the town of Wilton, and on the south by town of Saratoga. The population of Northumberland in 1865 was 1705.

This map is on page 53 of the Atlas. There are a separate maps for the more built up parts of town at Bacon Hill and at Gansevoort.
