Vermudo III (also spelled Bermudo), king of Asturias, Galicia, and León (1028-1037). In 1037 Ferdinand I of Castile defeated Vermudo III, annexed León, and took the title of emperor.

In 1028 Vermudo III married Jimina de Castile (1225) , daughter of Conde Sancho García de Castile (957) (ca 965-5 Feb 1017) & Uracca Gomez de Saldana (-20 May 1025). Born ca 1012. Jimina died aft 1063 in Vega.

Alfonso de León (Died soon) (ca 1030-ca 1030)

1557. Sanchia of León. Born ca 1013. Sanchia died on 13 Dec 1067 in Fromista.

In 1032 Sanchia married King Fernando I of Castile & León (1550) , son of King Sancho III of Navarre (ca 990/992-18 Oct 1035) & Muniadona de Castile (1222) (995-1067). Born ca 1016/1018. Fernando I died on 27 Dec 1065 in León.

Ferdinand I the Great, the first king of Castile (1035-1065), and king of León (1037-1065). In 1037 Ferdinand I defeated Vermudo III of León, annexed León, and took the title of emperor. At his death, he divided his realms between his sons Sancho II of Castile, and Alfonso VI of León.
