3914. Duke Jean I of Brabant. Born in 1253 in Brussels. Jean I died on 3 May 1294 in Louvain.

In 1270 Jean I first married Marguerite of France (3771) , daughter of King Louis IX of France (3341) (25 Apr 1214-25 Aug 1270) & Margarite of Provence (3622) (ca 1221-20 Dec 1285). Born in 1255. Marguerite died in 1271. Buried in St. Denis, Paris.

In 1273 Jean I second married Margaret of Flanders (3919) , daughter of Guy de Dampierre Margrave of Namur (3504) (ca 1225/6-7 Mar 1305) & Matilda de Béthune (ca 1220-8 Nov 1263). Born ca 1251. Margaret died on 3 Jul 1285.

3915. Marie of Brabant. Born ca 1255/1260 in Louvain, Brabant. Marie died on 12 Jan 1321 in Murel. Buried in Couvent des Cordeliers, Paris.

On 27 Aug 1274 Marie married King Philip III of France (3766) , son of King Louis IX of France (3341) (25 Apr 1214-25 Aug 1270) & Margarite of Provence (3622) (ca 1221-20 Dec 1285), in Vincennes. Born on 1 May 1245 in Poissy, Yvelines. Philip III died in Perpignan, Pyranees Orientales, France, on 5 Oct 1285; he was 40. Buried in St Denis, Paris.

Philip III the Bold, king of France (1270-1285), crowned at Reims 15 Sep 1271. He annexed the county of Toulouse to the royal domain in 1271. He died while campaigning in Spain.
