1 Jan 1661/2 Thomas married Elizabeth Stockbridge (6472) , daughter of John Stockbridge (2510) (ca 1608-13 Oct 1657) & Anne Kendall (ca 1613-1642 or 1643), in Scituate, MA.110 Born ca Jan 1639/40 in Scituate, MA.239 Elizabeth was baptized in Boston, MA, on 10 Jul 1642.25 Elizabeth died aft 19 Mar 1706/7.

In Apr 1664 Mary first married John Bryant in Scituate, MA.110 John died in Scituate, MA on 20 Nov 1684.52 Occupation: carpenter.

John first married Mary Lewis, second Elizbeth Wetherill, and third Mary Hyland.

    John Bryant, house carpenter, was a freeman in Scituate 1639. His farm was on the second Herring brook, ten rods east of the mill, and ancient orchard now [1831] marks the place.” On one Sunday morning, John Bryant entered the meetinghouse late. The Reverend William Witherle, after prayers, addressed him before the congregation saying: ‘Neighbor Bryant, it is to your reproach that you have disturbed the worship by entering late, living as you do, within a mile of this place and especially so, while here is Goody Barstow, who has milked seven cows, made a cheese, and walked five miles to the House of God in good season.’

John was presented at court 2 Mar 1642 for ‘drinking tobacco upon the highway.’ He was a member of Scituate’s Military Company in 1643, and admitted a freeman 15 Jan 1645. He served as a deputy to the general Court in 1657, 1677, and 1678; as a surveyer of highways in 1673, and was deacon of the Second Church of Scituate in 1669.

John of Scituate took an oath of fidelity on 15 Jan 1645 [Plym. Col. Rec., 8:183]. He was propounded a freeman on 7 June 1653 and admitted on June 6, 1654 [Plym. Col. Rec., 3:31, 3:48]. He served as a deputy to the general Court in 1657, 1677 and 1678 [Plym. Col. Rec., 3:115, 5:231, 5:256]. He served as a surveyor of highways for Scituate in 1673 [Plym. Col. Rec., 5:115], as selectman in 1677 and 1678 [Plym. Col. Rec., 5:230, 5:257]. He was a deacon of Scituate's Second Church in 1669.

Mary second married Cornet Robert Stetson (2975) , son of Thomas Stitson (1249) (-bef 1643) & Argent Lukesmore (-16 May 1643). Born ca 1615 in Modbury, Devon. Robert was baptized in Modbury, Devon, on 18 Jun 1615.42 Robert died in Scituate, MA 1 Feb 1702/3.52

Robert first married Honor Tooker, second Mary (Hyland) Bryant, widow of John Bryant.

    "Cornet Robert Stetson received a grant of a considerable tract of land 1634, from the Colony Court, on the North River, which constituted his farm. His house was on a beautiful plain near the river. An unfailing and valuable spring, out of which eight generations of the family have been supplied, marks the spot. 'Cornet's Rocks,' in the river east of his farm, are well known to those who navigate the river. He was posessed of considerable wealth, an enterprising and valuable man in th plantation, a deputy to Court, a Cornet of the first light horse corps raised in the Colony, a member of the Council of war, a Colony commissioner for selling the patent line–in short, he lived long and left a good name at last. ... In 1660, and several years subsequent, ‘Cornet Stetson was Commissioner to act for the country in all matters relating to the trade at Kennebec.’ Also, 1665, for his services he had granted to him ‘200 acres south of Mr. Hathaerly’s grant, above Accord pond.’ Colony Record"

Robert was a man of great public spirit, cornet of the first body of horse in Plymouth Colony, was representative 1654-1662, and often afterwards in 1664 a commissioner for settlement of bounds between the Colonies of massachusetts and Plymouth. In this perilous time, of the counil of war, befrore and after the great dangers of Philip’s holtility during which his service was active.25

Since Robert & Honor’s daughter Urith was baptized in England in 1636, they probably did not arrive in New England before then. Robert was appointed one of Scituate’s two constables on 7 Mar 1643, so he probably arrived by 1642.283

Bef 1657 Elizabeth married Francis James (2739) , son of Philip James (1204) (1600-1605-aft 10 Aug 1638) & Jane (ca 1606-22 Feb 1688/9). Born ca 1632 in England.100 Francis died in Hingham, MA on 29 Nov 1684.100 Occupation: husbandman.

Francis resided at Hingham Centre.45

6 Jan 1651/2 Sarah married Thomas Turner (3022) , son of Humphrey Turner (1260) (ca 1595-1672/3) & Lydia Gamer (ca May 1602-1669/70), in Scituate, MA.62 Born ca 1627.16 Thomas died in Scituate, MA in Nov 1688.52

"Thomas lived near the Harbour (probably on the Kent street lot)."53

He succeeded his father at the tannery south of Colman Hills, but lived on Kent Street on the lot laid out in 1633, the fourth lot from the corner of Kent Street and First Parish Road.42

    “Sergeant William Tickner appears in Scituate 1656, in which year he married Hannah, the daughter of John Stockbridge, and succeeded to the mansion house of his father in law at the Harbour, (Mr. Stockbridge having removed to Boston about that time). Serj. Tickner was engaged in agriculture, navigation and mercantile pursuits. His ‘warehouse’ is mentioned in our records in 1660. His farm was three fourths of a mile south-west from the harbour, now [1831] the well known place of Abijah Otis. He was often engaged in municipal affairs, as selectman, assessor, surveyor, &c. He was also in Philip’s war in 1676, being a Serjeant in Gen. Cudworth’s guard or ‘particular company.’”

Born in Jun 1639 in Scituate, MA.62 Joseph was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 5 Oct 1645.335 Joseph died in Scituate, MA bet 4 Apr 1722 and 8 May 1724.

Joseph first married Ruth Hyland; his second wife’s name was Prudence.

Joseph’s will was dated 4 Apr 1722 and proved 8 May 1724.
