Thomas was a cordwainer. Removed from Weymouth to Taunton, about 1701. July 5, 1701, John Briggs and wife, of Taunton, sold Thomas Porter of Weymouth, forty acres of land with dwelling in Taunton, for seventy pounds. Aug. 17, 1723, Samuel Andrews of Dighton, sold land to Thomas Porter of Taunton, for 135 pounds. In 1743, Thomas Porter of Taunton, sold land in Taunton to James Codding, for thirty pounds. April 16, 1744, Thomas Porter, of Taunton, sold forty acres of land and dwelling house and barn to son Joseph Porter, for 1000 pounds. In 1744, Thomas Porter, gave land to Ebenezer, Joshua, Samuel, John, Jacob, and Mary, children of his son Ebenezer, late of Taunton, deceased. This land was divided in 1753. (Bristol Co. Kecords.)
