Alfonso VI, king of León (1065-1109), of Castile (1072-1109). After his brother Sancho II of Castile was murdered, Aflonso had to swear to the Castilian nobility that he was he was not responsible for Sancho’s death in order to get their support. He conquered Toledo in 1085, and called himself Emperor of Toledo, as well as Emperor of the Two Religions. He was succeeded by his daughter Urraca.
