In 1224 Berenguela married Jean de Brienne Emperor of Constantinople, son of Comte Evrard II de Brienne (-8 Feb 1191) & Agnes de Nevers, in Burgos, Spain. Born ca 1168. Jean died on 21 Mar 1237 in Constanatinople.

3305. King Ferdindo III of Castile & León. Born on 5 Aug 1201. Ferdindo III died in Sevilla, Spain, on 30 May 1252; he was 50.

Ferdinanad, King of Castile (1217-1252) by virtue of inheritance of his mother, and of Léon (1230-1252) succeeding his father. He faught against the Moors in Spain conquering Córdoba in 1236, Murcia in 1243, Jaén in 1246, and Seville in 1248, leaving only the Kingdom of Granada under Muslim control, but it was subject to the payment of annual tribute to Castile. He was canonized a saint of the Roman Church in 1671. He was succeeded by his son Alfonso X.

On 30 Nov 1219 when Ferdindo III was 18, he first married Elisabeth von Hohenstaufen (3042) , daughter of Duke Philip II of Swabia (2602) (1178-21 Jun 1208) & Irini Maria Angelina (ca 1181-27 Aug 1208), in Burgos. Born ca 1203. Elisabeth died on 30 Nov 1235 in Toro.
