4140. Marguerite de Bourgogne. Born in 1290. Marguerite died on 14 Aug 1315 in Château de Gaillard. She was strangled. Buried in Vernon-en-Normandie.

On 23 Sep 1305 Marguerite married King Louis X of France (4403) , son of King Philip IV of France (4112) (1268-29 Nov 1314) & Queen Juana I of Navarre (4099) (14 Jan 1273-2 Apr 1305), in Vernon-en-Normandie. Born on 4 Oct 1289. Louis X died in Château du Bois-de-Vincennes, on 5 Jun 1316; he was 26. Buried in St. Denis, Paris.

Louis X, le Hutin, King of France (1314-1316), and as Luis I, King of Navarre (1305-1316). He was succeeded by his brother Philip V.

4141. Jeanne de Bourgogne. Born ca 1290/1294. Jeanne died on 12 Sep 1348 in Paris. Buried in St. Denis.

In 1313 Jeanne married King Philippe VI of France (4415) , son of Comte Charles de Valois (4114) (12 Mar 1270-16 Dec 1325) & Marguerite d’ Anjou Comtesse d’Anjou & Maine (4143) (ca 1273-31 Dec 1299), in Fontainbleau. Born in 1293 in Fontainbleau, France. Philippe VI died on 22 Aug 1350 in Nogent le Rotrou. Buried in St. Denis.

Philip, Count of Valois, became Philip VI the Pious, King of France, in 1328 upon the death of his cousin Charles IV, and was crowned 29 May 1328. His other titles included Count of Alençon 1293, Count of Maine 1315, and Count of Valois 1326. He reigned until his death in 1350, but the Hundred Years War with England began with his ill treatment of Charles IV’s nephew, King Edward III of England, who had a claim to the French throne.
