4268. Margaret de Clare. Born in Oct 1292 in Caerphilly Castle, Glamorgan, Wales. Margaret died on 13 Apr 1342 in France.

In 1307 Margaret first married Piers de Gaveston Earl of Cornwall, son of Sir Ernaud de Gaveston & Clarmunda de Marsau & Louvigny. Born ca 1284 in Blacklow Hill, Warwichsire. Piers died on 19 Jun 1312 in Blacklow Hill, Warwickshire. He was beheaded. Buried in King’s Langley, Hertfordshire.

On 28 Apr 1317 Margaret second married Hugh d’ Audley Earl of Gloucester (4502) , son of Hugh d’ Audley (4207) (1250-1325) & Iseude de Mortimer (4380) (ca 1267-1338), in Windsor. Born ca 1289. Hugh died on 10 Nov 1347 in France. Buried in Tonbridge Priory.

Hugh, second Baron Audley, eighth Earl of Gloucester 16 March 1336/7, Ambassador to France, 1341.

4269. Eleanor de Clare. Born ca Oct 1292 in Caerphilly Castle, Glamorganshire. Eleanor died on 30 Jun 1337 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.

In May 1306 Eleanor first married Hugh le Despencer (4456) , son of Sir Hugh le Despencer (4218) (1 Mar 1261-29 Oct 1326) & Isabel de Beauchamp (4186) (ca 1260-bef May 1306), in Westminster, Middlesex. Born ca 1284 in Barton, Gloucestershire. Hugh died on 29 Nov 1326 in Hereford, Herefordshire. Buried in Tewkesbury Abbey.

Hugh, second Lord Despencer, Earl of Winchester. He was executed for treason.

4270. Elizabeth de Clare. Born on 16 Sep 1295 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Elizabeth died on 4 Nov 1360; she was 65. Buried in St. Mary's, Ware.

On 30 Sep 1308 when Elizabeth was 13, she first married John de Burgh (4206) , son of Richard de Burgh Earl of Ulster (4250) (ca 1259-29 Jul 1326) & Margaret de Burgh (3839) (-ca 1304). Born ca 1290. John died on 18 Jun 1313 in Galway, Ireland.

On 4 Feb 1315 when Elizabeth was 19, she second married Sir Theobald II de Verdun (4356) , son of Theobald de Verdun (4050) (ca 1248-24 Aug 1309) & Margery [de Verdun], in near Bristol. Born on 8 Sep 1278. Theobald II died in Alveton Castle, Alton, Staffordshire, on 27 Jul 1316; he was 37. Buried in Croxden Abbey.

ca 1317 Elizabeth third married Sir Roger Damory, son of Robert Damory. Born in Bletchington, Oxfordshire. Roger died 13/14 Mar 1321/2 in Tutbury Castle, Tutbury, Staffordshire.

4271. Gilbert de Clare. Born on 10 Mar 1291. Gilbert died on 23 Jun 1314; he was 23.

Gilbert, Earl of Gloucester. He was killed at the battle of Bannockburn.

Gilbert married Matilda de Burgh, daughter of Richard de Burgh. Matilda died ca 1315/1320.
