In 1146 Manuel I first married Bertha von Sulzbach, daughter of Graf Berengar von Sulzbach. Bertha died ca 1159/60.

On 25 Dec 1161 Manuel I second married Maria de Poitiers (2277) , daughter of Raimund I de Poitiers Prince of Antioch (1778) (ca 1100/1100-27 Jan 1148) & Constance de Hauteville Princess of Antioch (2216) (ca 1127-1163). Born ca 1145. Maria died on 27 Aug 1182.

Maria, Regent of Byzantium. She died as a nun, strangled and thrown into the sea.
