In 1244 Isabel may have attempted to have King Louis IX of France assassinated. She fled to Fontevraud convent where she took the veil.

On 24 Jun 1200 Isabel Taillifer first married King John of England (2751) , son of King Henry II of England (2460) (5 Mar 1133-6 Jul 1189) & Duchess Eleanor of Aquitaine (2270) (1123-1 Apr 1204), in Bordeaux, Gironde, France. Born on 24 Dec 1167 in Beaumont Palace, Oxfordshire. John died in Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire, on 19 Oct 1216; he was 48. Buried in Worcester Cathedral.

John “Lackland”, King of England and Count of Anjou (1199-1216), succeeded his brother Richard I.
