On 14 May 1346 when James was 14, he married Elizabeth d’Arcy (4499) , daughter of John d’Arcy (ca 1280/1285-30 May 1347) & Joan de Burgh (4205) (-12 Mar 1358/9). Elizabeth died on 24 Mar 1389/90.

bef 8 sep 1352 Petronella married Gilbert Talbot (4746) , son of Richard Talbot (4757) (ca 1302-23 Oct 1356) & Elizabeth Comyn (4447) (1 Nov 1299-20 Nov 1372). Born ca 1332 in Goodrich Castle, Herefordshire. Gilbert died on 24 Apr 1387 in Roales, Spain.
