5363. Thomas Clifford. Born on 26 Mar 1414. Thomas died in the Battle of St Alban’s, Hertfordshire, on 22 May 1455; he was 41. Buried in Chapel of the Virgin, St. Alban’s.

Thomas Clifford, eighth Lord Clifford of Skipton (1414-1455). Sheriff of Westmoreland. He was one of an embassy to King James of Scotland. He was killed at the battle of St Albans, the first battle of the battle of the war of the Roses in 1455. Thomas Clifford and the Lancastrians were beaten by forces led by the Duke of York and Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick.

Thomas married Joan Dacre (5134) , daughter of Sir Thomas Dacre (5300) (27 Oct 1387-5 Jan 1457/8) & Philippa de Neville (4864) (ca 1386-aft 8 Jul 1453). Born ca 1412/1416 in Naworth, Cumberland. Joan died bef 1455.

In 1447 Mary married Sir Philip Wentworth (5475) , son of Sir Roger Wentworth (ca 1401-aft 5 Jun 1452) & Margery le Despencer (5269) (ca 1397-20 Apr 1478). Born ca 1424 in Nettlestead. Philip died on 18 May 1464 in Meddleham, Yorkshire.
