William II, or William Rufus, King of England (1087-1100), succeeded his father. He never married and was succeeded by his younger brother Henry I.

In 1086 Constance married Duc Alain IV de Bretagne (1711) , son of Duc Huël V de Bretagne (1447) (-13 Apr 1084) & Havoise de Bretagne (1333) (-1072), in Caen. Born ca 1065/1070 in Cournouaille, Brittany. Alain IV died on 13 Oct 1119.

1500. King Henry I of England. Born in 1068 in Selby, Yorkshire. Henry I died on 1 Dec 1135 in St. Denis-le-Fermont, France. Buried on 4 Jan 1136 in Reading Abbey, Reading.

Henry I, “Beauclerc”, King of England (1100-1135), succeeded his older brother William I upon his death by means of a coup d’état which excluded his brother Robert II duke of Normandy who was on crusade. Robert invaded England in 1101 but did not succeed. Henry invaded Normandy in 1105 and imprisoned Robert for life. Henry tried to secure the succession for his daughter Matilda which lead to a civil war between Matilda and Stephen. His nephew Stephen succeeded him.

On 11 Nov 1100 Henry I first married Matilda of Scotland (1800) , daughter of King Malcolm III of Scotland (1394) (1031-13 Nov 1093) & Queen Margaret of Scotland (1679) (1045-16 Nov 1093), in Westminster, England. Born ca 1079/80 in Dunfermline, Fifeshire, Scotland. Matilda died on 1 May 1118 in Westminster, England. Buried in Jun 1118 in St. Peter, Westminster Abbey.

On 29 Jan 1122 Henry I second married Adeliza of Louvain (1659) , daughter of Duke Godfrey V of Lower Lorraine (1288) (1060-25 Jan 1139/40) & Ida de Namur (2049) (ca 1078/1083-ca 1117/1122), in Westminster Abbey. Born ca 1103/1105. Adeliza died on 23 Apr 1151 in Afflighem, Flanders.

He third did not marry Sibyl Corbet, daughter of Robert Corbet Burgess of Cyan (ca 1042-aft 1121). Sibyl died aft 1157.

It has been said that Henry married Sibyl Corbet, but set her aside to marry Margaret of Scotland in order to unite Saxon and Norman claims to the throne. Since evidence is lacking, Sibyl’s children by Henry should be considered illegitimate.
